3.1 INSTALLATION
A. Plastic Sleeves: 1. Apply (2) beads of 100% Clear Silicone Sealant by starting beads on opposite sides of the top of the pack and
spiral downwards, making a complete rotation of the beam with each bead. 2. Slide the sleeve over the column bearing sleeve in sealant. 3. Allow the sealant to harden and make sure the sleeve is firmly seated on the pin. 4. Repeat the installation if the sleeve can be easily removed from the beam. 5. Do not install sleeves with manufacturer's double-sided foam tape.
B. Install the plastic transition tape in the locations and as shown in the drawings.

1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
A. Provide adequate material handling and storage facilities to prevent damage to edges, edges and surfaces.
B. Keep materials dry. Stack materials at least 12 inches from the ground or, if on concrete slabs, at least 1-1/2 inches, fully protected from the weather.

2.3 WOOD PROCESSING

2. Treat wood in accordance with AWPA Commodity Specification USC U1 C2, except that wood that is not in contact with the ground and continuously protected from wet water may be treated in accordance with Commodity Specification USC U1 C31 with inorganic boron (SBX).
3. Chemical preservatives must be acceptable to the relevant authorities and not contain arsenic or chromium where prohibited.
4. Dry dry wood after treatment to a moisture content of 15 to 19 percent. Do not use material that is deformed or does not meet raw material requirements. The material to be painted or stained must have knots and grain sealed as in raw wood.
5. Mark the wood with the processing quality mark of an inspection organization approved by the ALSC Review Board.

PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 EXAM
A. Examine the rough joinery areas and verify the following: 1. Structural rough joinery components have been installed. 2. That the surfaces are satisfactory to receive work. 3. That the spacing, direction and details of the brackets are correct for the installation of the lock,
reinforcing, stripping, furring and nailing tapes.
3.2 PROCESSING THE WOOD SITE
A. Workplace Wood Treatment: Comply with AWPA M4 for field treatment application to cut preservative-treated wood surfaces. 1. Use inorganic boron for items that are continuously protected from liquid water. 2. Use naphthenic copper for items that are not constantly protected from wet water.
3.3 INSTALLATION
A. Adjust the raw wood to the required levels and lines with true-to-line barrel members cut and fitted. Adapt the raw wood to another structure. write and parse as needed for accurate application. Locate ceilings, studs, barriers, grounds, and similar supports to meet requirements for attaching other constructions. 1. Make continuous piece members as long as possible. 2. Do not connect structural members between supports unless otherwise noted.
B. Provide blocking and framing as indicated and necessary to support materials, fixtures, specialty items, and decorations. 1. Provide metal clips to secure drywall or battens at corners and intersections where they frame or
Blocking does not provide a surface to secure the panel edges. Space clips no greater than 16 inches o.c.
C. Secure the members in place with the specified fastener. Select size fasteners that will not fully penetrate members where the opposite side will be exposed to view or receive finishing materials. Make close connections between members. Install fasteners without splitting the wood. Do not sink nail heads unless instructed otherwise.
D. Hardwood Flooring, Nailing, Blocking and Nailing: Install where indicated and where necessary for laminating or securing other jobs. Form the shapes shown and cut as needed for the actual line and plane of the attached work. Coordinate sites with other related tasks. 1. Adapt objects to substrates to support the applied load. Socket bolts and nuts are flush with surfaces unless
otherwise indicated. 2. Attachment slots below the surface of wooden members.
E. Wood pile: Lay flat and barrel with closure strips at edges and openings. Wood veneer as needed for finish tolerance.
F. Install firestop per Section 07840 in spaces concealed with wooden blocks, horizontally and vertically per drawings, at least 2 inches thick where space is not obstructed by structural members.

5. Drywall Substrate: Apply adhesive to drywall substrate and panel backing as recommended by the manufacturer with a V-groove spreader. Provide 100 percent adhesive coverage.
6. Install the frame trim components at the same time as installing the panels. Trim the accessory panel with a corner miter for a smooth transition. Fit attached trim to edges and edges of adjacent panel and seal with sealant.
7. Seal corner joints, base and ceiling joints, and panel-to-wall joints with sealant. Remove excess sealant during installation.
8. Apply sealant to all openings, corners and joints.
